Winter means a lot of winter fun but also that our skins could use some extra TLC.
The temperature outside drops and the heating goes on. A dry atmosphere is the result. Hello dry skin! Your hands and lips (and those of the children) in particular have a hard time and can feel chapped or burning.
Four tips to protect (children’s) skin against winter weather
1. Put on a hat and gloves
It may be an open goal, but by wearing a hat and gloves you protect your skin from the cold weather.
2. Keeps the skin extra oily
Winter weather often makes the skin dry and less oily. Less oily skin means less protection against the harsh weather. So apply!
3. Don’t take a bath too often
It is not advisable to take a lovely warm bath or a (too) hot shower after a cold day. Warm water dries out the skin. Therefore, shower or bathe at a normal temperature.
4. Don’t forget the cheeks
The red cheeks of children are of course lovely to see after playing outside, but can become irritated and chapped due to the cold and the transition between inside and outside. To prevent this, it is therefore advisable to apply a nourishing cream to the skin both before and after playing outside.
You can use the Bepanthen protective ointment for this lifestyle, because it cares for the vulnerable children’s skin and helps prevent and repair painful spots (Dexpanthenol supports skin repair). By supplementing the natural skin fats, the Bepanthen ointment places a protective layer on the skin without closing it off.
So, apply plenty of oil and grease, because with the right care, the chance that you will get through the winter without itching, irritation and cracks is much greater!
